Terms of service
What Diagramma does, how plans and refunds work, what you may and may not do with it, and what each of us is responsible for.
The short version
- Each plan is one payment. There’s no subscription, nothing renews, and projects don’t expire.
- A project counts as used the first time you share a link or export a file from it. Before that, deleting it gives it back.
- You can ask for a full refund within 14 days of a purchase if you haven’t shared a link or exported a file from any project made with it. Once you have, that purchase isn’t refundable, except where the law says otherwise.
- What you make is yours. Anyone with a share link can see what it shows, so send links only to people you mean to.
- The audits are measurements, not a certificate. Whether what you build is accessible is for you to check.
This agreement
These terms are between you and AGBK Productions LLC, trading as Diagramma, 240 Harriman Road, Irvington, NY 10533, USA (“we”, “us”). By creating an account, buying a plan or using Diagramma, you accept them. If you accept for a company, you confirm you’re allowed to bind it, and “you” means the company.
Our privacy policy explains how we handle personal data and how to have it erased.
Diagramma runs on Iridiom, the software platform it’s built on, and some screens and emails at app.diagramma.design may carry the Iridiom name. For Diagramma, these terms apply.
What Diagramma does
- Builds a design system. From the settings you give a project (colours, typefaces, scale, spacing, shape, elevation, motion, layout and icon settings, and a logo and voice if you add them), Diagramma works out a full set of design tokens for light and dark.
- Measures it. It reports contrast for text pairings and shows your palettes as they appear with three kinds of colour blindness.
- Packages it. It makes a guidelines deck you can share by link, and files you can export: tokens.css, a Tokens Studio JSON file, design.md, an SVG swatch sheet and the deck as one HTML file.
Diagramma is not affiliated with, endorsed by or run by Google, Figma or Tokens Studio.
Your account
- You must be 18 or over. Diagramma is for business and professional use.
- Give accurate details and keep your sign-in safe. You’re responsible for what happens under your account and in your workspace.
- Tell us straight away at hello@diagramma.design if you think someone else has got into your account.
What you put in
- Your settings, names and words. You’re responsible for what you type into a project, including a client’s name and your own contact details, which are printed on the deck.
- Logos. Upload only logos you have the right to use. Files must be SVG, up to 64 KB each.
- Fonts. You may upload font files (WOFF2, WOFF, TTF or OTF, up to 5 MB each). A font you upload is embedded in every deck you share from that project, so anyone who opens the link receives it. Upload a font only if its licence allows web embedding, and tick the confirmation only if that’s true. Many desktop licences don’t allow it.
- Other people’s details. If what you put in includes someone else’s personal data, such as a client’s name or a colleague’s email address, you’re responsible for having the right to share it with us for this purpose.
Share links
- A share link shows a copy of the project as it was when you made the link: its deck, its example screens and its files. Anyone who has the link can open it, without an account.
- You decide who gets a link. Treat it like the document it points to: anyone you send it to can pass it on.
- You can revoke a link at any time in the project’s Share dialog. A revoked link stops opening.
- Deleting a project doesn’t revoke its links. Revoke them first. If you’ve already deleted the project, email privacy@diagramma.design and we’ll remove them.
- A project can have up to 50 live links at a time.
Audits and what Diagramma makes
- The audits report measurements: WCAG contrast ratios, APCA scores and colour-blindness simulations of the colours in your project. They are not a certificate of accessibility, and a passing result doesn’t mean a product built with the system meets any accessibility law or standard. That depends on how it’s built.
- The deck includes general guidance, such as contrast targets and do’s and don’ts. It’s a starting point. Read it before you send it, and check that it’s right for your client.
- Colours are converted between colour formats and can look different from one screen or printer to another. Check anything that has to match exactly.
- The same settings give the same system. Two people who choose similar settings will get similar results.
Acceptable use
You must not:
- upload anything you don’t have the right to use, including logos and fonts;
- use a share link to publish anything unlawful, infringing, deceptive or harmful;
- try to reach another customer’s data, or get around a limit, allowance or access control;
- scrape or automate Diagramma other than through features we provide, or put unreasonable load on it;
- resell access to Diagramma itself, or use it to build a competing product; or
- use it for anything unlawful.
Making design systems for your own clients, and charging them for that work, is what Diagramma is for.
Plans and payment
Diagramma is sold as plans. Each is one payment. There’s no subscription, nothing renews, and you’re never charged again unless you buy again.
- Business: 1 project, $99.
- Pro: 3 projects, $199.
- Agency: 10 projects, $799.
- More projects. You can buy any plan again. Each purchase adds its projects to the ones you have.
- The price you pay is the one shown at checkout. Prices are in US dollars and don’t include sales tax, VAT or similar taxes. Where those apply, you pay them, either to us if the law requires us to collect them, or directly to the tax authority.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. Your card details go to Stripe and never reach us.
Projects, and when one is used
A project is one design system: a brand, a product or a client. Every project, on every plan, includes everything described under What Diagramma does.
- Projects don’t expire. A project you haven’t started stays available, and a project you’ve started can be edited, shared and exported from for as long as Diagramma is offered.
- Starting one. Creating a project takes one from your plan.
- When it’s used. A project counts as used the first time you make a share link or export a file from it. Until then, if you delete it, you get the project back to use again. After that, deleting it doesn’t give it back.
- Limits. Reasonable limits keep the service fair, such as the size of uploads and the number of live share links.
- Deleting a project removes it from your list. It doesn’t erase its data from our systems and doesn’t revoke its share links; see deleting your data.
Refunds
You can ask for a full refund within 14 days of a purchase if you haven’t shared a link or exported a file from any project made with it. Once you have, that purchase isn’t refundable, except where the law says otherwise.
- To ask, email hello@diagramma.design from the address on your account within 14 days of the purchase.
- What a refund does. It cancels what the purchase paid for, and it doesn’t delete anything already made. Projects not yet started from it can no longer be started. If we refund a purchase after a project from it has been used, for example because the law requires it, anything that project still does isn’t part of what you paid for, and we may stop it.
- If you’re a consumer. Diagramma is sold for business and professional use. If you buy as a consumer and your local law gives you a right to cancel (in the EU and UK, 14 days), these terms don’t take that right away. To cancel under it, email hello@diagramma.design within 14 days of your purchase saying you want to cancel. You don’t need to give a reason or use a form. We’ll refund you within 14 days of your message, the way you paid.
- Disputed payments. If you dispute a payment with your bank or card issuer, what that purchase paid for is suspended straight away, as with a refund. If the dispute is settled in our favor, email us and we’ll restore it.
Who owns what
- You own what you put in: your settings, logos, fonts and words. As between you and us, you also own the design systems, decks and files Diagramma makes for your projects. You can use them, share them and give them to your clients, for any purpose, without crediting us.
- You let us store, process and display your content, and send it to the providers who receive data, only to run Diagramma for you. That includes showing a shared copy to anyone who opens a link you made.
- Typefaces have their own licences. The ones Diagramma offers are served by Google Fonts under the licence each is published with, and the ones you upload stay under the licence you hold. Diagramma doesn’t give you rights in any typeface.
- We own Diagramma: the software, its design, the name and the logo. The example screens in the live preview are ours; you may show them as part of your deck and share links, but not lift them into other products. If you send us feedback, we may use it without owing you anything.
Availability and changes
- We work to keep Diagramma running, but we don’t promise it will always be available or free of errors. Share links depend on the service too: if Diagramma is unavailable, a link won’t open. Export the deck as a file if you need a copy that doesn’t depend on us.
- We may change, add or remove features, and what the deck and the files look like. A link you’ve already shared keeps the settings it was made with, but is drawn by the current version of the deck.
Suspension and ending
- You can stop using Diagramma at any time. To have your data erased, see deleting your data.
- We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms, if a payment is reversed or disputed, or if the law requires it. We’ll tell you why, unless the law prevents us. If we close an account for breaking these terms, there’s no refund.
- If we ever stop offering Diagramma, we’ll email account holders first and give you time to export your decks and files.
- The sections on plans and payment, refunds, who owns what, warranties and liability, your responsibility for claims, governing law and general terms still apply after this agreement ends.
Warranties and liability
- Diagramma is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we make no promises beyond those in these terms, including about the accuracy of any measurement, or about whether anything made with Diagramma is fit for a particular purpose or meets any standard.
- We’re not liable for lost profits, revenue, business, data or goodwill, or for any indirect or consequential loss.
- Our total liability for all claims is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $100 if you paid nothing.
- Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law doesn’t allow to be limited, such as for fraud, gross negligence or willful misconduct, or your rights as a consumer under mandatory law.
Your responsibility for claims
If someone makes a claim against us because of what you uploaded or shared, such as a logo or a font you didn’t have the right to use, or because you broke these terms or the law, you’ll cover our reasonable costs and losses from it.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the State of New York, USA. Disputes go to the state or federal courts in New York. If you’re a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws where you live and can bring a claim in your local courts.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We’ll post the new version here with a new date, and email account holders about important changes before they take effect. A change doesn’t take away projects you’ve already paid for. If you keep using Diagramma after a change takes effect, the new terms apply.
General
- These terms are the whole agreement between us about Diagramma.
- If a court finds part of them unenforceable, the rest still applies.
- If we don’t enforce a term straight away, we can still enforce it later.
- You can’t transfer this agreement without our consent. We may transfer it to whoever takes over the business.
- We’ll send notices to the email address on your account. Send yours to hello@diagramma.design.
